Rizful: Terms Of Service

The following is the binding and enforceable Terms of Service.

This is the terms of service for Rizful Vault, our Lightning vault service. For the terms of service of Rizful Node, see here.

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully, as they govern your use of Rizful's services, website (rizful.com), and any related mobile applications. By using our services, accessing our website, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If these Terms conflict with any third-party terms, these Terms will take precedence. Please also review our privacy policy.

We may update these Terms at any time without notice to reflect changes to our services, new features, legal or security developments, or to protect our users. Changes will take effect from the "Last Updated" date listed. Please review these Terms regularly, as continued use of our services means you accept any updates.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you (an individual or an entity acting through an authorized person) and Rizful, including its affiliates ("we," "us," or "our").

Eligibility & Account

To use most of our services, you need to create an account with us. To use any of our services, or to create an account, you must meet at least the following conditions (“Conditions”):

  1. If you are an individual, you must be old enough to legally form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (typically 18 in the USA, but may vary elsewhere).
  2. If you are an entity, you must be legally organized and operating under the laws of your jurisdiction.
  3. You must have a valid email address.
  4. You must have the authority to agree to these Terms without violating any other agreements.
  5. You must not be restricted from using our services.
  6. If you are an individual, you must not be located in, or under the control of, any sanctioned or embargoed jurisdiction (including Crimea, Cuba, Donetsk, Iran, Luhansk, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, and Syria) or a jurisdiction where our services are restricted. If you are an entity, you must not be owned or controlled by anyone in such locations.
  7. If you are an individual, you must not be on, or if you are an entity, not owned or controlled by anyone on, U.S. or international sanctions lists, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control's SDN list, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Denied Persons List, and similar watchlists.

By making an account or using the services, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the Conditions. If you stop meeting the Conditions, you must immediately notify us and stop using your account and the services. We may require proof that you meet the Conditions. Even if you meet the Conditions, we may, in our sole discretion, determine that you’re not eligible to have an account or use the services.

Your Activities

When using our services, you agree to:

  1. Only use your account for your own benefit, not for anyone else.
  2. Not share your account or password with others.
  3. Keep your account secure by using a strong, unique password.
  4. Immediately inform us if you detect or suspect any security issues with your account.
  5. You are responsible for all activities under your account and accept the risks of both authorized and unauthorized access, as allowed by law.
  6. Always provide and up-to-date email when using our services.

We may decide, at our discretion, to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate your account if necessary. For more details, see below.

You are solely responsible for all actions and omissions under your account, and any activities performed using your account will be considered as your actions.

Your Rizful Vaults

When you use our services, you gain access to a Rizful Vault ("Vault"). You are responsible for all activity in your Vault, including:

  1. Complying with all relevant laws and regulations.
  2. Keeping your login email, password and 2-factor authorizations secure.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Recommended

You can at any time enable a free two-factor authorization application like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or other authentication app, to protect your account.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING ACCESS TO YOUR 2FA SOFTWARE. RIZFUL DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR 2FA OR BACKUP CODES.

BTC Balances

Since you control your Rizful Vault, we are not responsible for the use or management of your BTC. By using our services, you confirm that (1) you are the owner of the BTC in your Vault, (2) you comply with all relevant terms and conditions, (3) you have the authority to make deposits and withdrawals, and (4) you have provided accurate and complete information when using our services.

Your Rizful Vault only supports BTC (Bitcoin). If you attempt to deposit unsupported digital assets or cryptocurrencies, you may permanently lose them, and we are not liable for such losses.

All deposits and withdrawals to your vault occur on Bitcoin's Lightning Network. These transactions are nonrefundable and not under the control of Rizful.

You solely own and retain title to any BTC assets in your Rizful Vault.

You are solely responsible for determining the taxes that apply to your use of our services, including without limitation all BTC activity, and for correctly reporting and paying those taxes to the relevant authorities. Rizful does not have any responsibility or liability for determining, collecting, reporting, or remitting taxes from your transactions.

Fees

Rizful Vaults have no recurring fees, subscription-based fees, or idle fees. You will however incur fees for using the Lightning Network. Paying into your Vault may incur Lightning Network routing fees, but these fees will be paid by the entity who pays into your Vault. Paying out of your Vault will also incur routing fees, which will vary based on network conditions. In addition, outgoing payments will incur a small platform fee, which will vary depending on network conditions. All fees, and your full transaction history, may be referenced from your Vault at any time.

Downtime

From time to time, your Vault may be inaccessible due to maintenance or updates that we are performing. We are not responsible for any loss or claim related to this downtime, and although we will make our best, reasonable effort to keep our service running 24/7, we cannot make any specific guarantees.

You acknowledge and agree that your access to and use of the services is at your own risk. Rizful is not liable for any losses you may incur as a result of these risks.

Long-term usage

WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rizful, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise from or relate to your use of our services or platforms, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, Applicable Law

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY, AS IT REQUIRES YOU TO ARBITRATE DISPUTES WITH RIZFUL AND LIMITS HOW YOU CAN SEEK RELIEF.

You and Rizful agree to resolve any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the services through arbitration, except for disputes where either party seeks equitable relief for the alleged misuse of copyrights, trademarks, trade names, logos, trade secrets, or patents. ARBITRATION MEANS YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO SUE IN COURT OR HAVE A JURY TRIAL. Both parties agree to notify each other in writing of any dispute within 30 days of it arising. You must send notices to info@rizful.com. Additionally, you and Rizful agree to: (a) attempt informal resolution before seeking arbitration; (b) conduct arbitration confidentially with a single arbitrator under JAMS rules; and (c) recognize that the courts have exclusive jurisdiction over appeals of arbitration awards and any cases not subject to arbitration. Aside from the class procedures and remedies mentioned below, the arbitrator can provide any remedy that would be available in court. Disputes will be governed by these Terms and applicable laws, without consideration of conflict of laws principles. Whether resolved in arbitration or court, neither party will initiate a class action, class arbitration, or representative action against the other.

We reserve the right, at any time and without liability or prior notice, to:

  1. Modify or discontinue our services or Platforms, or any part of them;
  2. Suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to our services or Platforms;
  3. Suspend, restrict, or delete your account, any related information, or any content you post on our services or Platforms; or

If we decide to terminate your account, we use the email address you have provided to reach out and ask you to withdraw and BTC balance on your Vault, before we delete your account.

You can close your account at any time by withdrawing your BTC balance and ceasing to use our services. However, we can only close or discontinue your account if your BTC balance is either zero or considered "dust," a small amount that cannot be transferred.

Notices

You agree that Rizful may send all communications, agreements, documents, receipts, notices, and disclosures (“Communications”) related to your account or use of our services via email to the address you provide. It is your responsibility to regularly check this email address and respond promptly to any important notices.

To receive and keep copies of these electronic Communications, you need a device with an internet connection, a current web browser, and sufficient storage. You are also responsible for ensuring that your email address on file is always up to date.

Force Majeure

Rizful is not responsible or liable for any error, delay, loss, or damage arising from any event beyond our reasonable control (each, a “Force Majeure Event”). Force Majeure Events include flood, extraordinary weather conditions, earthquake, or other act of God, fire, war, insurrection, riot, labor dispute, accident, action of government, communications, power failure, or equipment or software malfunction.

Waiver

If Rizful does not exercise a right under these Terms, it is not waiving such right.

Enforceability

If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, such provision will be deemed severed from these Terms, but such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect any other part of these Terms, and the rest of these Terms will remain in full force and effect. However, if any such invalid or unenforceable provision can be modified so as to be valid and enforceable as a matter of law, then such provision is not deemed severed from these Terms and instead is deemed to have been modified to be valid and enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Assignment

You cannot assign or transfer any right or obligation under these Terms without Rizful's prior written consent. Rizful can assign or transfer any right or obligation under these Terms, in whole or in part, without your consent, subject to compliance with applicable laws. Additionally, if Rizful is acquired by or merged with a third-party entity, we reserve the right to transfer or assign the information we have collected from you as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.

No Investment or Tax Advice

Rizful does not provide investment or tax advice, including in connection with your use of the services. You agree not to rely upon any statement or content on our services or platforms, or that is otherwise attributed to Rizful, as a recommendation, advice, or guidance regarding trades, investments, tax, or any other similar issues. We are also not acting as your bank, broker, intermediary, agent, advisor, or as your fiduciary in any capacity, including with respect to the services.

No Partnership or Joint Venture

Nothing in these Terms will be deemed to or is intended to be deemed to, nor will it, cause you and Rizful to be treated as partners, joint venturers, or otherwise as joint associates for profit.

Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Rizful, and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings between you and us regarding our services and platforms.

Rizful: Safety Guidelines

The following safety practices are essential to protect your Rizful account.

At Rizful, security is our top priority. These safety guidelines are designed to help you protect your account and funds from unauthorized access. By following these practices, you can help ensure the security of your Rizful account.

2FA Usage Is Required

For accounts that hold more than 100,000 satoshis (0.001 BTC), two-factor authentication (2FA) is mandatory. 2FA significantly enhances the security of your account by requiring an additional code from an authentication app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator each time you log in, withdraw funds, or make changes to your account.

Important: Your 2FA authentication app is the most critical security feature of your account. Never share your 2FA codes with anyone, including Rizful support staff. We will never ask for them.

Recovery Codes

When setting up your 2FA, you will receive a set of recovery codes. These codes are the only way to access your account if you lose your 2FA device. Make sure to store these codes securely, such as in a password manager or a physical, offline location. If you lose both your 2FA device and your recovery codes, it will not possible to recover your account and any BTC on your node(s) will be lost.

Verifying BTC Addresses

Always double-check Bitcoin addresses before sending or receiving payments. Malicious software or browser extensions can modify BTC addresses, leading to lost funds if payments are sent to the wrong address. Be cautious and verify the address before confirming any transactions.

Browser Security

Be mindful of any browser extensions you have installed. Some malicious extensions can manipulate web content, including changing BTC addresses during a transaction. Regularly review and uninstall any unnecessary or suspicious extensions. Keep your browser and all extensions up-to-date with the latest security patches.

Strong and Unique Passwords

Use a strong, unique password for your Rizful account. Avoid using the same password across multiple sites. A password manager can help you generate and securely store complex passwords.

Recognizing Phishing Attempts

Be cautious of emails, messages, or websites that ask for your login credentials or 2FA codes. Always verify that you're on the official Rizful.com domain before entering any sensitive information. Phishing attacks often attempt to mimic legitimate sites to steal information.

RIZFUL WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR 2FA CODE VIA EMAIL OR DIRECT MESSAGES

Never provide your 2FA code to any third-party.

Regular Account Monitoring

Regularly review your account activity and settings. If you notice any unauthorized access or unusual activity, immediately change your password, update your 2FA, and contact Rizful support for assistance.

Rizful Node: Terms Of Service

The following is the binding and enforceable Terms of Service.

This is the terms of service for Rizful Node, our node-in-the-cloud service. For the terms of service of our Vault service, see here.

Your Cloud Lightning Node

When you use our services, you gain access to a cloud Lightning node ("Lightning Node"). You are responsible for all activity on your node, including:

  1. Complying with all relevant laws and regulations.
  2. Ensuring your node has a positive BTC balance.
  3. Keeping your login email, password and 2-factor authorizations secure.
Nodes With Zero Balance And No Channels May Be Deleted

Please be aware that any nodes with zero BTC balance and no open channels could be deleted at any time. Do not use BTC addresses generated from Rizful for long-term "payment" addresses.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Required

You can at any time enable a free two-factor authorization application like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or other authentication app, to protect your account.

AT THE POINT WHERE YOU HAVE DEPOSITED MORE 100,000 SATOSHIS (0.001 BTC), YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ENABLE TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA) IN ORDER TO TAKE ANY FURTHER ACTIONS, INCLUDING WITHDRAWING AND SENDING BTC OF ANY AMOUNT.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING ACCESS TO YOUR 2FA SOFTWARE. RIZFUL DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR 2FA OR BACKUP CODES.

BTC Balances

You'll need a positive BTC balance on your Lightning Node to open channels and send payments. All your funds are held directly in your Lightning Node. Each user's Lightning Node is strictly segregated and other users do not have access to your Lightning Node. You maintain control of your funds at all times.

Since you control your Lightning Node, we are not responsible for the use or management of your BTC. By using our services, you confirm that (1) you are the owner of the BTC in your node, (2) you comply with all relevant terms and conditions, (3) you have the authority to make deposits and withdrawals, and (4) you have provided accurate and complete information when using our services.

Your Lightning Node only supports BTC (Bitcoin). If you attempt to deposit unsupported digital assets or cryptocurrencies, you may permanently lose them, and we are not liable for such losses.

All deposits, withdrawals, channel openings, and other BTC chain activity and Lightning activity is nonrefundable and not under the control of Rizful.

You solely own and retain title to any BTC assets on your Lightning Node.

Downtime

From time to time, your Rizful node may be inaccessible due to maintenance or updates that we are performing. We are not responsible for any loss or claim related to this downtime, and although we will make our best, reasonable effort to keep our service running 24/7, we cannot make any specific guarantees.

Your Lightning Node May Sleep

Unless you pay for extended uptime, please be advised that when your Lightning Node is not active, it may go to sleep. This means that your node will not be able to receive or send payments. To wake up your node, you will need to log in to your account and click the "start" button.

If Rizful experiences data loss

One of the known challenges of the Lightning Network is backing up "channel state". There is currently no 100% safe method of backing up channel state. If one of our servers experiences data loss, your node will automatically be moved to a new server and an attempt will be made to restore it from a "static channel backup" (SCB). By proceeding on this website, you accept and acknowledge the risks and delays inherent with the SCB process. We encourage you to educate yourself about the challenges of the SCB process by referencing this page .

Rizful: Safety Guidelines

The following safety practices are essential to protect your Rizful account.

At Rizful, security is our top priority. These safety guidelines are designed to help you protect your account and funds from unauthorized access. By following these practices, you can help ensure the security of your Rizful account.

2FA Usage Is Recommended

2FA significantly enhances the security of your account by requiring an additional code from an authentication app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator each time you log in or withdraw funds.

If you lose both your 2FA device and your recovery codes, it will not possible to recover your account and any BTC on your vault(s) will be lost.

Verifying Lightning Addresses And Invoices

When sending or receiving payments, always verify the Lightning address or invoice. Ensure that the address matches the intended recipient's address. If you are using a Lightning invoice, check that the amount and destination are correct before proceeding with the payment.

  • Cookies: Cookies are used to manage sessions and keep you logged in. Disabling cookoies will probably break the functionality of this website.
  • Basic Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, an open-source, privacy-focused analytics tool, to collect aggregated, anonymized data on website usage. This data does not track individual visitors or collect personal information.
  • Advanced Analytics: When you first start a node on Rizful, before you can use the service, you will be asked to visit the Analytics Settings page. Here you must choose if you want to allow Rizful to collect more detailed "advanced analytics" data on your usage of Rizful. "Advanced analytics" does allow us to record your browser's ip address, and actions you take on the website.

Plausible Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, an open-source, privacy-focused analytics tool. Plausible Analytics does not use cookies, track individual visitors, or collect any personal data. All data is aggregated and does not track users across devices or websites. Plausible Analytics is hosted on EU servers and is fully compliant with GDPR and other privacy regulations.

Data Security

We take data security seriously and implement measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. All collected data is encrypted and stored securely.

Deleting Your Data

To delete your data, first close all of your channels and withdraw all of your funds from your node(s). Then, use the My Account link at the top of this page and choose Close Account. Any data associated with your account will be automatically deleted.

Do-Not-Track (DNT) Controls

Some web browsers and mobile apps offer a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature to signal your preference not to have your online activity monitored. Currently, there is no standardized way to recognize and implement DNT signals, so we do not respond to them. If a standard is adopted in the future that requires compliance, we will update our Privacy Policy accordingly.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect will signify your acceptance of the revised policy.
